Privacy policy
What we collect when you use theview.africa, and why.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which stories are read and how people find us. It uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our email provider to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
When you email us
If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond and, for tips and corrections, to follow up on the story. We protect the identity of sources who ask us to.
Live TV player
The player on our Live TV page uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing loads from YouTube until you press “Watch live”; after that, Google's privacy policy applies to the video.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Share buttons on our stories are plain links; nothing is sent to social networks unless you click them.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@theview.africa.
