Emirates will fly its newest aircraft, the Airbus A350, between Dubai and Nairobi from 25 October 2026. The airline announced the change in late September. Passengers flying between the two cities will also be able to book Premium Economy, which Emirates has never offered on Kenyan routes before.
The details
- Flights: the A350 will fly as EK717 and EK718, one of Emirates' three daily flights between Dubai and Nairobi. That makes 21 flights a week in total.
- Seats: 298 in three cabins, with fully flat Business seats in a 1-2-1 layout, Premium Economy and Economy.
- Premium Economy: leather recliners with more legroom, adjustable headrests, charging ports and 13.3-inch screens.
- Network: Nairobi will be the 32nd city Emirates serves with the A350.
Emirates' country manager for Kenya, Christophe Leloup, said the aircraft would bring "more comfort, choice and thoughtful touches in every cabin."
Why it matters
Dubai is one of the busiest routes out of Nairobi for business, trade, tourism and Kenyans working in the Gulf. Emirates added a third daily flight in July, and a newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft is another sign that demand is growing. Premium Economy also gives travellers a middle option between Economy and Business fares. Kenya had a record year for tourism in 2025: read about record visitor arrivals.
